What does intermediate mean?
Intermediate riders have completed at least one multi-day tour or are comfortable riding 250–400 km per day. These trips may include mountain passes, gravel sections, or less-travelled roads that require more focus and technique than beginner routes.
Choosing the right trip
Look for trips with a clear daily distance range and terrain description. Intermediate tours in the Alps, Balkans, or Scandinavia typically reward riders with spectacular scenery and satisfying riding challenges without requiring expert-level skills.
Guided vs self-guided for intermediate riders
Intermediate riders often enjoy self-guided trips — you have the skills to navigate independently with GPS and a pre-planned route, while still having operator support on call if needed.
